Hawaiian Grilled Ham & Cheese with Chiquita Pineapple
Tropical twist on a classic.

Ingredients:

    • 2 fresh Chiquita® pineapple slices, cored (thin slices)
    • 2 slices sandwich bread (whole wheat recommended)
    • 2 ounces thinly sliced ham
    • 2 slices swiss cheese
    • 3 fresh basil leaves
    • 1 tablespoon butte

Instructions:

 On the sandwich bread, layer cheese, ham, fresh pineapple, basil and a second slice of cheese; top with remaining bread. Melt the butter in a heavy skillet over medium heat. When butter is melted, place sandwich in skillet and cook until golden, 2 to 3 minutes. Flip the sandwich and cook another 2 to 3 minutes or until second side is golden and cheese is melted. Serve warm.

Tip to make pineapple chunks:
Lay the pineapple down, cut off the stalk, and cut into half.
Cut into quarters.
Trim core and bottom from each quarter.
Cut into eighths.
Trim skin from each eighth.
Slice lengthwise into wedges.
