Quality time doesn’t necessarily mean going on special outings or holidays. Actually, sometimes the most special moments are short spurts of bonding during the day.
Go on, turn healthy breakfasts into quality family time with some of Chiquita’s favorite family morning rituals.
Put a mix of songs, new and old, on the playlist. It will give you a chance to chat about the top hits and trends of your time, and your kids favorite songs, then and now. Take requests for next week’s playlist, too! You’ll have the whole family boogieing their way through the morning and feeling energized to face the day.
It’s best to come with some ideas before sitting at the healthy breakfast table, to make sure the cook has some control, and so that the meals are balanced. For example, ask your family what they would love to have for Tuesday dinner. Or if they would prefer carrots or broccoli on Wednesday? That way the whole family is included and you will be sure to see the kids eating more vegetables! Then, why not have a ‘crazy dinner’ every so often? Let the kids choose the entire meal. Have a giggle while organizing a wacky fortnightly dinner. You’ll have fun as a family bouncing silly ideas off each other. Also, it will give the whole family something to look forward to.
Chat about your families wishes and worries for the day, the week or the year. It can be big or small, but what is important is that the family is there to share advice and brainstorm solutions. This will also help to understand each other’s behavior and make for a more accommodating and comprehensive family unit.
Challenge your family to a joke competition to see who can bring the most laughter to the table. Play a practical joke on your family members by putting a gummy worm in their cereal. It will have everyone screaming with laughter and completely boost the morale.
Pull it out when you see the week is getting to you and your family, and you need something to bring a smile to their faces. Pull out some questions with tasting the delicious Chiquita mini banana with yogurt and no-bake granola. Good for the body and the soul! Fill the jar with random questions. What kind of animal would you be? How do you like your eggs cooked? If you had three wishes, who would they be? If you could have any super power, what would it be?
You’ll have the whole family thinking, imagining and creating at such an early hour of the day!
Let’s do it!
Start making mornings meaningful and enjoyable for the whole family.
